Polar and Marrow
Apple HealthDirect soon
Everything Polar Flow writes to Apple Health shows up in Marrow with no extra setup, next to your meals and workouts, and goes on to your AI and your exports. Polar's own scores never reach Apple Health: those come with the direct connection, which you can join the waitlist for in the app.
Open in Marrow works on an iPhone with Marrow 1.6 or later.
Through Apple Health Free
Polar Flow writes to Apple Health, and Marrow reads it there. It writes: workouts with heart rate, sleep, steps, calories and weight.
- In Polar Flow, open More > General settings > Apple Health.
- Turn All Categories On, then Allow.
- In Marrow, open Connects, then Sources. Polar shows a check once its data is coming in.
Direct connection Coming
Polar's own service, beyond what reaches Apple Health. It adds: Nightly Recharge, training load and continuous heart rate.
- In Marrow, open Connects, then Sources, and tap Polar.
- Tap Join the waitlist. Marrow sends the name of the source, nothing else, and tells you when it is ready.
Direct connections need Polar's approval of Marrow first. Sources never count toward the connect limit.
If it does not work
- Nothing in the last 30 days. Marrow counts a source as coming in once its app has written something to Apple Health in the last 30 days. Record a workout or a night's sleep, let the app sync, then open Sources again.
- The app has the switch on, but Apple Health has no data from it. In the Health app, open your picture, then Apps, pick the app and check that its write switches are on. An app can be connected and still allowed to write nothing.
- It came in once and stopped. Most apps only push to Apple Health while open. Open the app, let it sync, and check Sources again.
