Garmin and Marrow
Apple HealthDirect soon
Everything Garmin Connect writes to Apple Health shows up in Marrow with no extra setup, next to your meals and workouts, and goes on to your AI and your exports. Garmin's own scores never reach Apple Health: those come with the direct connection, which you can join the waitlist for in the app.
Open in Marrow works on an iPhone with Marrow 1.6 or later.
Through Apple Health Free
Garmin Connect writes to Apple Health, and Marrow reads it there. It writes: steps, distance, calories, heart rate, sleep and workouts.
- In Garmin Connect, open More > Settings > Connected Apps > Apple Health.
- Connect, then allow every category.
- Open Garmin Connect now and then: it only pushes while open.
- In Marrow, open Connects, then Sources. Garmin shows a check once its data is coming in.
Direct connection Coming
Garmin's own service, beyond what reaches Apple Health. It adds: Body Battery, Stress, Training Readiness and HRV Status.
- In Marrow, open Connects, then Sources, and tap Garmin.
- Tap Join the waitlist. Marrow sends the name of the source, nothing else, and tells you when it is ready.
Direct connections need Garmin's approval of Marrow first. Sources never count toward the connect limit.
If it does not work
- Garmin Connect only pushes while it is open. Open Garmin Connect after a sync so it writes the day to Apple Health. Data recorded while it stayed closed arrives the next time it opens.
- Nothing in the last 30 days. Marrow counts a source as coming in once its app has written something to Apple Health in the last 30 days. Record a workout or a night's sleep, let the app sync, then open Sources again.
- The app has the switch on, but Apple Health has no data from it. In the Health app, open your picture, then Apps, pick the app and check that its write switches are on. An app can be connected and still allowed to write nothing.
