Zapier and Marrow Health
Automated
Marrow posts your data to a Zapier Catch Hook on a schedule. From there it can go to any of Zapier's apps.
Open in Marrow works on an iPhone with Marrow 1.4.2 or later.
Automated (Webhooks by Zapier) Free
Marrow posts CSV or JSON to a URL on a schedule, with the app closed. You need: A paid Zapier plan (webhooks).
- In Marrow, open Export and tap Zapier. Turn Automated on.
- Zapier: new Zap, trigger Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook, copy the URL.
- In Marrow: New Automation. Its page asks for:
- Address: The Catch Hook URL from Webhooks by Zapier. It looks like
https://hooks.zapier.com/hooks/catch/…. - Data and Cadence: the kind of data, JSON or CSV, and how often it runs.
- Run: Run now, then test the trigger in Zapier to load the sample, and build the rest of the Zap.
- Address: The Catch Hook URL from Webhooks by Zapier. It looks like
If it does not work
In Zapier
- Webhooks by Zapier is locked. It is a premium app, so it needs a paid Zapier plan or the free trial.
- Test trigger finds nothing. Tap Run now in Marrow first, then Test trigger in Zapier. It shows the three most recent requests from the past hour.
- Delivered, yet the Zap does not run. Publish the Zap. Catch Hook reads JSON, XML or form data only, so pick JSON in Marrow: a CSV body still gets a success answer but triggers nothing.
- Still delivered after the Zap is off. Zapier can keep answering 200 for several hours before it answers 404, so Marrow shows delivered while nothing runs. Check that the Zap is on.
- Server answered 413. Zapier takes up to 10 MB per webhook. Pick a shorter range or fewer metrics.
- The fields look odd. Zapier flattens nested fields and joins their names with two underscores. Pick the field you need from the sample.
Automated checks
- Test with Run now. The line under Run now says what happened. Any 2xx answer counts as delivered. Anything else shows as Server answered and the status code, or the network error.
- Check the Activity log. In the automation, More options, Activity log lists its last 30 runs with the result of each.
- Runs come late. iOS picks the moment for background runs, and a phone that stays locked sends when it is next unlocked. Since last run catches up on the next run that succeeds.
- A receiver on your home network. Marrow needs Local Network access to reach it (Settings, Privacy and Security, Local Network). Tap Run now once with Marrow open, so iOS can ask: in the background it refuses without asking.
- It will not switch on. Each automation that is on counts as a connection. Free keeps 1 connection on at a time. Marrow Pro keeps up to 10: AIs, servers and automations together.
