Google Sheets and Marrow Health
AutomatedManual
A sheet that fills itself: Marrow posts each day's numbers to a small Apps Script, or you import a CSV once.
Open in Marrow works on an iPhone with Marrow 1.4.2 or later.
Automated: Apps Script Manual: Import a file
Automated (Apps Script) Free
Marrow posts CSV or JSON to a URL on a schedule, with the app closed. You need: A Google account.
- In Marrow, open Export and tap Google Sheets. Turn Automated on.
- In a sheet: Extensions, Apps Script, paste the recipe, deploy as a web app.
- In Marrow: New Automation. Its page asks for:
- Address: The web app URL ending in
/exec, then?key=and the secret from the recipe. Apps Script cannot read headers. It looks likehttps://script.google.com/macros/s/…/exec?key=…. - Data and Cadence: the kind of data, JSON or CSV, and how often it runs.
- Run: After editing the script, deploy a new version:
/execkeeps the old one until you do. Then tap Run now.
- Address: The web app URL ending in
Manual (Import a file) Free
A CSV, JSON or GPX file, made when you ask for it. You need: Nothing.
- In Marrow, Manual: pick a range, CSV, Create export, share the file to Drive.
- In Sheets: File, Import, pick the file.
If it does not work
In Google Sheets
- No rows after Run now. Open the Apps Script project and click Executions at the left. Each POST shows there with any error.
- Script changes do nothing. Deploy, Manage deployments, edit the active deployment, pick a new version and Deploy. The
/execaddress keeps running the old version until you do, and it stays the same address. - The address ends in /dev. That one runs only for people with edit access who are signed in. Marrow needs the
/execaddress. - Delivered, yet no rows. The recipe answers forbidden when
?key=does not match its SECRET, and Marrow still sees a success. Check the key at the end of the address. - The script never runs. In the deployment, Who has access must let anyone reach it without signing in, as in the recipe.
- Importing a file instead. In Sheets: File, Import, then pick the CSV from Drive or upload it. Choose comma as the separator if it asks.
Automated checks
- Test with Run now. The line under Run now says what happened. Any 2xx answer counts as delivered. Anything else shows as Server answered and the status code, or the network error.
- Check the Activity log. In the automation, More options, Activity log lists its last 30 runs with the result of each.
- Runs come late. iOS picks the moment for background runs, and a phone that stays locked sends when it is next unlocked. Since last run catches up on the next run that succeeds.
- A receiver on your home network. Marrow needs Local Network access to reach it (Settings, Privacy and Security, Local Network). Tap Run now once with Marrow open, so iOS can ask: in the background it refuses without asking.
- It will not switch on. Each automation that is on counts as a connection. Free keeps 1 connection on at a time. Marrow Pro keeps up to 10: AIs, servers and automations together.
Manual checks
- Nothing to share. Each section of Export, Manual makes its file for the range at the top. Pick a longer range if it says there is nothing in it.
